Scott Hartwig - Head Coach

In December 2003, Scott Hartwig was appointed Head Coach of the Men’s Soccer Team. Hartwig, a Harris-Stowe graduate, was a four-year starter for the men’s soccer team from 1996-1999. He captained the team from 1997-1999 and played in two National tournaments. His team finished the 1998 and 1999 seasons nationally ranked and won the Region V Championship both years. Hartwig led Harris-Stowe to three American Midwest Conference (AMC) Championships in 1996 1997, and 1999.
Hartwig was assistant coach of the 2000 Harris-Stowe State College men’s soccer team, reaching the NAIA National Tournament semi-finals and finishing third in the National Rankings.
He lives in St. Louis with his wife and daughter.

In August 2004, John Ryan was appointed assistant men’s soccer coach. Ryan was a four year teammate of head coach Scott Hartwig. Ryan, a Harris-Stowe graduate, was a four year starter on the Harris-Stowe men’s soccer team from 1996-1999. Ryan led the Hornets offensively with 76 goals in his four year career, guiding them to back to back national tournaments in 1998 and 1999. After Harris-Stowe, Ryan played professionally for the St. Louis Steamers from 2000-2003. |
