| Wanda Nettles begins her first season as Harris-Stowe State University, Head Women’s Basketball Coach, after serving the past two seasons as an assistant coach for the Hornets. Coach Nettles will join the Hornets staff after serving as the Head Women’s Basketball Coach at the University of Illinois-Springfield (UIS) from 2001-2005. Before her four-year stint at UIS, Nettles was the Head Women’s Basketball Coach at Lincoln Land Community College from 1999-2001. Coach Nettles’ collegiate coaching experience started as the Assistant Coach at Belleville Area College (now Southwestern Illinois College) from 1993-1997.
Coach Nettles is known for her high energy and up-tempo style of play. Nettles’ expertise extends well beyond coaching, carrying over to scouting, recruiting, mentoring and providing organizational leadership skills to her student-athletes.
Coach Nettles earned an Associates of Applied Science in Drafting Technology in 1990 and a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Leadership from Greenville College in 2000, where she graduated cum laude.
