The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) recently recognized the Harris-Stowe State University Volleyball team as a 2009-2010 NAIA scholar team.
For a team to be considered for the NAIA Scholar Team award, it must have a minimum 3.0 grade point average on a 4.0 scale. The team grade point average must include all varsity student-athletes certified as eligible. The Harris-Stowe Volleyball Team produced a 3.37 cumulative grade point average.
Director of Athletics Don Kaverman noted “Harris-Stowe Department of Athletics is proud of the academic accomplishments of our volleyball student-athletes. It is our goal for all intercollegiate athletics teams to achieve this distinction. We will continue to emphasize academic achievement for all Harris-Stowe student-athletes.”
