Vicki Cotner (Hazelwood Central H.S./ Florissant, MO) was named a Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete for 2009. She maintained a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale. Cotner was one of 303 women’s volleyball players in the country to receive this award. |

| 11/12/09-- HSSU Volleyball Earns Four Academic All-Conference Selections |
The Harris-Stowe State University Volleyball Team had four players earn American Midwest Conference (AMC) Academic All-Conference honors.
Amanda Bomar (Hazelwood Central H.S./ Florissant, MO), Vicki Cotner (Hazelwood Central H.S./ Florissant, MO), Lindsey Dirkers (Lindberg H.S./ St. Louis, MO) and Megan Traw (Ritenour H.S./ St. Louis, MO) all earned a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better.

| Harris-Stowe alumnus Johnny Chittakhone first coached at the University in 1996. He left after the 1997 season before returning in 2006 as Head Volleyball Coach and has been with Harris-Stowe ever since.
Chittakhone made an immediate impact on the Hornets’ volleyball program at the start of the 2006 season by winning six more games than the Hornets won the previous season.
In addition to serving as Harris-Stowe’s Head Volleyball Coach, Chittakhone has served as Head Coach at St. Mary’s High School since 1997. During his tenure at St. Mary’s, Chittakhone won five Missouri State Titles, including three consecutive titles from 2005-2007.
In addition to coaching at Harris-Stowe Chittakhone also was a member of the Harris-Stowe Men’s Soccer team for two seasons.
